Barack Obama visited Seattle on Friday and whipped a crowd of 18,000 people inside Key Arena, plus thousands more outside, into a frenzy. The excitement of his campaign carried over to Saturday, and he won the state by more than a 2-to-1 ratio: 68% to 31%.

I caucused today for the first time ever. It was a very interesting experience. Some people there to vote seemed happy just to have a chance to finally be heard in choosing the democratic nominee. Others, strangely, were so pissed off at how inconvenient, poorly executed, and confusing the process was that they grumbled and [...]
According a group of mostly college educated, economic conservative, socially moderate-to-liberal Christians who participated in Relevant Magazine poll, Jesus would vote for Barack Obama.
Coming in second was Mike Huckabee, and third place went to Ron Paul.
Jesus would be least likely to vote for Mike Gravel or Hillary Clinton. I don’t know why…

Today is the start of the Chinese New Year. This year is the Year of the Rat.
Start the year off right by chewing on a rat’s succulent hindquarters.
The BBC reports:
One rat seller, Sala Prompim, said that the hip and liver were the best cuts.

Mitt Romney said he called it quits today because, “If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or Obama would win. And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, [...]
John McCain is almost certain to be the Republican nominee for president even though he is not greedy enough, mean enough, and bigoted enough for the rightwing nutjobs like James Dobson and Rush Limbaugh. Dobson says that if McCain gets the nomination, he will not vote at all. I think that is a good thing.

Washington State Democratic Caucus 2008
Published by February 6th, 2008 in Miscellaneous. 6 CommentsIf you plan on having a voice in selection of the democratic nominee for president this year, you need to caucus. That means you go and hang out with a bunch of hippy democrats and raise your hand when they call your candidate’s name. Or something like that. I’ve never done it.
Don’t think that the [...]
Take a little time out today and read some William Burroughs. Here’s are some quotes to get you started:
“How I hate those who are dedicated to producing conformity.”
“Silence is only frightening to people who are compulsively verbalizing.”
“In the magical universe there are no coincidences and there are no accidents. Nothing happens unless someone wills it [...]
