Best Music of 2006 So Far…

There’s been a whole lot of great music released this year, so I thought I’d throw out a list of what I think are the best releases so far.  Here they are in order of greatness.

  1. The Duke Spirit - Cuts Across the Land
  2. Neko Case and Her Boyfriends - Fox Confessor Brings the Flood
  3. Cat Power - The Greatest
  4. Bruce Springsteen - We Shall Overcome (The Seeger Sessions)
  5. Rosanne Cash - Black Cadillac
  6. Band of Horses - Everything All the Time
  7. Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped
  8. Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam
  9. The Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soldiers

Those are my favorites through June.

The second half of the year started off with the July 4th release of what is destined to be another classic from the late Johnny Cash, American V: A Hundred Highways.
