Ry Cooder
March 15th, 2007
Ry Cooder recently put out a concept album titled My Name is Buddy that follows the adventures of Buddy the cat, Lefty the mouse, and Reverend Tom Toad as they journey through dustbowl-era America.
The music is styled after Woody Guthrie’s folk tunes of the day with a little down-home blues thrown in once and a while.
The CD comes with a booklet that includes a short story and illustrations by Vincent Valdez.
It’s all good.
