And the most aggravating part of this Supreme Court decision and the election of Senator Brown is that Democrats WON in November. They took over the White House and increased their majorities in both houses of Congress, yet the minority party that is bent on destroying our country somehow manages to control the debate.

They control it with the ridiculous filibuster rule and their belligerent FOX News mouthpiece that inexplicably became the most-watched “news” channel in America. Gee.... do you think Fox Newscorp should be allowed to fund political campaigns? Do you think they’ve already been doing that for the last decade by using their shows to bash Democrats and praise Republicans?

Someday.... Someday.... the terrorists in our own country won't be fighting the infidels. They'll rise up to fight the greedy fat fucks that are sending our country down the shithole. Maybe they'll start by bombing Goldman Sachs.

There's no question that the election of a Republican to fill the late Senator Edward Kennedy's seat would be an unmitigated disaster for the country and a travesty to his memory. Meaningful health-care insurance reform would almost certainly be dead for another generation. And if the GOP makes big gains in the fall you can add climate change legislation and stronger regulatory control over the big banks that nearly destroyed our economy, to the list of casualties.

But it will also beg the question: do America and the GOP deserve each other? How else to explain that grumpy Americans are apparently turning to the GOP, who created the economic mess we're currently suffering, have fought against tough regulatory reform of big banks and who couldn't care less about predatory insurance industry practices against ordinary Americans, to punish the other political party, the Democrats, who inherited the mess but who can't fix it in a year but who are trying to provide good health-care insurance to every American?

If Brown wins on Tuesday, all I can say is: Good luck, America. But then my family and I have good health insurance so why the hell should I care about anyone else? Hey, that's not bad; I'll make an American yet!!

It's not fair to misinterpret what Scheuer said. HE DOES NOT WANT THE US ATTACKED but feels that only a nuclear attack on a city would wake up American politicians to allocate needed assets to go after binLaden instead of chasing after cheap oil. He really has a point for we abandoned getting binLaden in 2001, hoping to getting Iraq's oil all to ourselves, getting bumkus in the end as the Chinese got the oil instead. Now we're going after the Taliban because we want to pacify Afghnaistan so we can lay accross it north-south gas&oil pipelines from the oil and gas rich "stans" above Afghnaistan for export via Indian ports. Mike McConnell, Bush's chief of intel insisted that cheap energy is our top national security issue. To fill-er-up their SUVs, scummy obese middle-aged Americans, raised in the 1970s ME-IST culture and now suffering from "ain't my kid goimg to war" disconnect syndrome, are more than willing to send our mom and dad soldiers to die, leaving lots of orphans and widows on the homefront, as expeditionary forces conquering an oil empire for us instead of investing in oil-free energy. Corporate America has long been in command and it could care less about binLaden. All it wants is skyward rocketing of Wall Street. Scheuer decries the way Bush used binLaden as an excuse to build an oil empire. He can't forget that we had Obama by the short hairs but let him go because Cheney and Rumsfeld insisted on investing our forces to conquer Iraq for cheap oil and to appease their neocon and right wing Israeli campaign funders. And so Scheuer cries in frustration that only binLaden nuking a city will get us back on track. Be fair, don't be a Bush-it type like the Republicans, misrepresenting a man who, right or wrong, you can always count on to put America's safety above self. You can't say that about a lot of our Republicans and Democrats in Congress!

We don’t need to profile!

We don’t need to profile. At the Center for Aggression Management, we use easily-applied, measurable and culturally-neutral body language and behavior exhibited by people who intend to perpetrate a terrorist act. This unique methodology utilizes proven research from the fields of psychology, medicine and law enforcement which, when joined together, identify clear, easily-used physiologically-based characteristics of individuals who are about to engage in terrorist activities in time to prevent their Moment of Commitment.

Since the foiled terrorist attack by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian national on Northwest Flight 253 to Detroit, the President has repeatedly stated that there has been a systemic failure as he reiterates his commitment to fill this gap in our security. This incident, like the Fort Hood shooting, exemplifies why our government must apply every valid preventative approach to identify a potential terrorist.

The myriad methods to identify a terrorist, whether “no-fly list,” “explosive and weapons detection,” mental illness based approaches, “profiling” or “deception detection” - all continue to fail us. Furthermore, the development of deception detection training at Boston Logan Airport demonstrated that the Israeli methods of interrogation will not work in the United States.

All media outlets are discussing the need for profiling of Muslim Arabs, but profiling does not work for the following three reasons:

1.	In practice, ethnic profiling tells us that within a certain group of people there is a higher probability for a terrorist; it does not tell us who the next terrorist is!

2.	Ethnic profiling is contrary to the value our society places on diversity and freedom from discrimination based on racial, ethnic, religious, age and/or gender based criteria. If we use profiling it will diminish our position among the majority of affected citizens who support us as a beacon of freedom and liberty.

3.	By narrowing our field of vision, profiling can lead to the consequence of letting terrorists go undetected, because the terrorist may not be part of any known “profile worthy” group – e.g., the Oklahoma City bomber, Timothy McVeigh

Our unique methodology for screening passengers can easily discern (independently of race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, age, and gender) the defining characteristics of human beings who are about to engage in terrorist acts.

The question is when will our government use true “hostile intent” through the “continuum of aggressive behavior” to identify potential terrorists? Only when observers focus specifically on “aggressive behavior” do the objective and culturally neutral signs of “aggression” clearly stand out, providing the opportunity to prevent these violent encounters. This method will not only make all citizens safer, but will also pass the inevitable test of legal defensibility given probable action by the ACLU.

As our Government analyzes what went wrong regarding Abdulmatallab’s entrance into the United States, you can be assured that Al Qaeda is also analyzing how their plans went wrong. Who do you think will figure it out first . . . ?

I have the same problem with my XC70, 2002. However I do not have the remote so I cannot try this 5 times. At some other place I found the information that immobilizer resets after 5 hours. This is why I know that it starts overnight after problems in the evening. I am considering switching immobilizer off completely.

I side with Krugman rather than Dean. Whatever its flaws, even the Senate bill is a giant step forward in reforming the health insurance system. It curbs some of the more disgusting practices of the insurance industry such as dropping people who get sick, or denying coverage to those with pre-existing conditions, and it extends coverage to most of the uninsured. And it helps many more people who would otherwise find out, to their consternation, that their insurance left them vulnerable to crippling out-of-pocket expenses.

The Democrats deserve both our support and our admiration (well most of them anyway) for persevering in the face of unprincipled Republicans, recalcitrant so-called moderate Democrats, hateful right-wing media jerks machine and an indifferent and largely ignorant electorate.

If the Democrats pull it off, we will all owe them a debt of gratitude - one that I don't doubt that Americans will repay by voting for the GOP in the mid-term elections in 2010.

Might have stressed that this is the break they have been getting--paying capital gains taxes instead on income tax. These investment advisors and hedge fund managers can take advantage of this tax structure because they are often compensated through a scheme that, in part, pays them according to the returns on the fund. The industry standard for hedge fund managers is “two and twenty,” which is shorthand for an “overhead” fee of 2% of capital under management plus carried interest (often called a “carry”) of 20% of the returns on the fund. Thus a $100 million fund earning 20% would pay its fund manager $2 million for overhead and $4 million in carry. The carry portion of their compensation is treated under the tax code as capital gains for the fund manager and is taxable at the much lower capital gains tax rate of 15%.

And the GOP thinks this if fair!

I've done one better. I have a .PDF version of that lunacy and I plan to keep it and post it every year. In the meantime I have a whole jar of "timed-release" curses on the shelf above my desk that look like foil-wrapped cchocolate in the shape of ears, eyes, fingers... BTW once the curse is released how long does it stay in effect? What's the expiration date on a curse?

Not completely off topic, I have to share my two year old son's reaction to watching a football game for the first time. To my chagrin, he was very excited:

Growing up, I had a super cheapo great aunt who would buy candy on sale after Halloween and then give the candies to us kids as Christmas, I mean Xmas, presents. I wonder if she knew she was working for Lucifer? What would Ms. Daniels think about that?
Ha Ha, RIP, you ol' Bat,

So Rusky does not fact check? Wow, what a surprised.

Oh, and when contronted that he was punked, he defended himself by saying "we stand by the fabricated quote because we know Obama thinks it anyway"

After so many years of mis-labeling and mis-characterizing others he gets smacked down by the NFL "Not For Limbaugh". Great job NFL.

Oh my god. That Patti Smith thing is one of the greatest things I've ever seen. I loved Kids Are People Too when I was a kid, but I have no recollection of what the show was about or what was on it.
