GOP Congressmembers upset about upcoming schedule
December 7th, 2006
Incoming Majority Leader has set a rough 5-day-week schedule for the next session of congress. Some old school (the school taught by a republican majority) members are a little upset about it.
“Keeping us up here eats away at families,” said Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), who typically flies home on Thursdays and returns to Washington on Tuesdays. “Marriages suffer. The Democrats could care less about families — that’s what this says.”
Eats away at families? Marriages suffer? How about we institute a rule that says any time we send national guard and reserve troops to fight a foreign war, congress has to work a 5 day week?
