McCain picks Palin for Vice Pres. That’s not judgement we can believe in!
I’m kind of shocked myself with McCandidate’s VP choice. I’ve been reading about her all morning and really can’t figure it out. She offers practically nothing to the ticket. Not just nothing that couldn’t have been found with another candidate (Kay Bailey Hutchison?), but literally nothing.
1. McCain has a seemingly well deserved reputation as a womanizer and Sarah Palin is pretty hot. She was even given a spread in Vogue and featured in “Alaska” magazine as “America’s Hottest Governor.” Images of the two together engender a deep sense of creepiness:
2. The red-hottest poker in McCampaign’s arsenal was the inexperience jab and now that point is rendered flatulently moot. The best they can do now is claim a difference between running for Pres vs running as VP. But even that adds a level of complexity to this choice that McCain was previously given a pass on: his age and health. Now they’re serious issues that must be addressed if Palin is next in line.
3. And I think Paul Begala puts it very well when he says:
CNN.com: “For months, the McCainiacs have said they will run on his judgment and experience. In his first presidential decision, John McCain has shown he is willing to endanger his country, potentially leaving it in the hands of someone who simply has no business being a heartbeat away from the most powerful, complicated, difficult job in human history.”
I do look forward to seeing how she stands up against Biden face to face. I think one possible benefit of having a successful, young hockey mom in the slot is that Joe Biden’s no-holds-barred style may look rude and bullying on the debate floor. And we all know that the coveted “independent” vote (meaning those so woefully uninformed that they haven’t made up their minds yet) may sway this time, not on who they want to have a beer with, but on who was nicest to the pretty librarian.

I’m emailing this to everyone! GAWD!!! (and they cried all night…)
