Read David Foster Wallace’s Infinite Jest this Summer

June 10th, 2009

Today I came across a website named Infinite Summer via a Paste Magazine email.

You’ve been meaning to do it for over a decade.  Now join endurance bibliophiles from around the web as we tackle and comment upon David Foster Wallace’s masterwork over the summer of 2009.  The festivities begin on June 21st and run through September 22nd.

A thousand pages ÷ 92 days = 75 pages a week.  No sweat.

And they do note that there are a endnotes, “a lot of them.”

I tried reading this gargantuan book over ten years ago, but never go through it.  I might attempt to do this… 75 pages a week seems doable.

Here’s a Wiki page full of notes about the book that readers can refer to by page.

So… finish whatever you are reading now by Saturday night, find yourself a copy of this book, and start reading Sunday morning.
