Nick Cave Live in Seattle

Yesterday I promised a blurry photo, and here it is.

Wednesday’s show was a little different from Tuesday’s all-out rock show.  The band started out performing five songs much like they did last night, but then settled in to their more traditional arrangements for a couple of songs.  Nick took a seat at the keyboards to perform “Love Letter” and “God is in the House,” a welcome break from the howls-from-Hell rock.  They got back into that mode soon after.

Here’s the complete set list:

Hold on to Yourself
Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!
Tupelo
Red Right Hand
Midnight Man
Love Letter
God is in the House
Lovely Creature
Moonland
Deanna
Mercy Seat
Hard On For Love
We Call Upon the Author (this has got to be the only song ever written using the word “myxomatoid.”)
Papa Don’t Leave Me Henry

…encore…
The Ship Song
The Lyre of Orpheus
Get Ready for Love
Stagger Lee (Screeching guitars and keyboards at eardrum-shattering volume. A perfect way to end the show.)

Update:  There are some excellent photos of the Tuesday night show on this Flickr page. Nice job by whoever the photographer is (goes by “shitbrain”), and he has a way better camera than mine.
