Dear John,
I used to like you, but now I think you are a punk-ass bitch.
Years ago the “maverick” label seemed like it fit. You used to be against giving huge tax breaks to the rich, but now you want to extend Bush’s tax cuts for the wealthy, even though Bush’s plan has added trillions to the national debt during the eight years he’s been in office and will result in him handing off the largest budget deficit in history to his successor.
You used to be a moderate on the abortion issue, but now that you’re the nominee, you are letting yourself be controlled by extreme right-wing factions of your party. You are not a moderate anymore.
You used to be against negative campaigning. You learned in 2000 that going negative against Bush didn’t work out so well for you. It worked for Bush though. Maybe that’s why you recently hired Steve Schmidt who worked under Karl Rove in the extremely mean and nasty Bush campaigns. The Wall Street Journal reported that Karl Rove “dubbed him ‘The Bullet,’ a reference to both the shape of his shaved head and his lethal impact when deployed against opponents.”
He is obviously behind your latest attack ad that equates Barack Obama with Britney Spears and Paris Hilton.
Are you out of your mind? Tell me how they are alike?
Has Obama been arrested for drunk driving?
Has Obama been divorced and denied custody of his children?
Has Obama had videos of him having sex posted on the internet?
Has Obama starred in really stupid TV shows?
Do Spears and Hilton have a law degrees?
Have Spears or Hilton, outside of court ordered punishment, performed any public service?
Have Spears or Hilton ever held public office?
The answer to all of these questions is “NO!”
You are an idiot for hiring a hit man like Steve Schmidt to run your campaign. You should have listened to Mike Huckabee “who sternly warned the GOP that demonizing Barack Obama won’t work and it would be a big blunder to even try. Huckabee issued the warning because he’s worried that in going negative against Obama the GOP risks voter backlash.”
You agreed with him then and said that you would run a clean campaign. Now you look and sound like mean, jealous, grumpy old man.
The night Obama gave his victory speech after out-polling Clinton, you also gave a speech, and the contrast between the two events was like night and day. After seeing the videos I commented that about the only way you could run a successful campaign against Obama would be if you conducted your entire campaign from the guest chair of The Daily Show. There you look comfortable. There you are likable. There, even liberals will listen to you and give you some respect.
Those days are over. I doubt that Jon Stewart will invite you back because he has a policy about not inviting douche bags to appear on his show.
Good luck with your ill-advised, negative campaign. I think I know how it will turn out.

Well put Brad. I think the whole thing makes McCain look like a desperate old fuck. I feel bad for the old guy, before he ran for president he was considered an American hero. By the time he is done with this campaign he will look like a tired, bitter old man. His campaign is trying to make Obama’s popularity into a negative. They are really stretching, because they have nothing!
Well done, Brad. This is worthy of the NYT op-ed page except I think they’d have some trouble with the douche bag reference. Too bad, because you got to tell it like it is. Desperate men take desperate measures. May Barack Obama continue to take the high road and leave his unworthy opponent in the gutter, where he apparently feels quite comfy.
Well you know, at least McCain is a real American. Unlike Obama, McCain shows pride in this country and he shows it well. I am sorry but anyone that doesn’t show pride in the country shouldn’t be president. I would have thought logic would have kicked in for the liberals by now. Anyway… He is and always will be an American hero and if you ever say he isn’t, or feel like he is anything less then you need to leave this country because that is what this country is about. Freedom. He fought for our freedom and he should get the respect he deserves for it. Now, I will say Obama is an articulate man and he could have potential…in a few years but right now he is a little too inexperienced for my taste. Oh, and I will say this, great job in blaming McCain for something he really doesn’t have much control over. The parties do as they wish, and yes I am completely against the two-party system. Clearly you don’t recall when Obama knocked McCain for saying that he was a war hero. I am pretty sure that that counts as rude too. My final question for you is… Do you realize that not all ads are done by McCain? Some are done outside of his control. Anyone can have a commercial run. Anyone can advertise. Next time, think before you post your thoughts on the internet.
To “A real American:”
There are so many things wrong with your comment that I barely know where to begin. I guess I’ll just start at the top and work my way down.
You imply that Obama does not show pride in America. Have you ever listened to him speak? If you had then you would have heard that he believes in the “real America” that has been sullied and abused by the current administration. How he believes in an America that abides by laws both national and international. How the people in this great country can come together to solve problems. If you wrote that because he sometimes does not wear a flag lapel pin, you are dimwitted fool.
What did Obama blame McCain for? You don’t say. How is anyone supposed to understand your comment or respond to it?
When did Obama “knock” McCain for being a war hero? I have no recollection of that because I don’t think it ever happened. I think you may be referring to Wesley Clark’s comment about how being a war hero doesn’t qualify one to be president. That’s a true statement - it doesn’t. Clark took a lot of heat for that statement, mostly because the mainstream media completely ignored several sentences preceding it in which Clark praised McCain’s service. Point being of course that one can be admired as a veteran prisoner of war, but that alone does not make one qualified to be president.
About the ad. Did you watch it? Did you catch the ending? You know… the part where McCain strikes a chin jutting pose and says “I’m John McCain and I approve of this message.” Did you see McCain interviewed after the ad was aired telling a reporter that he likes the ad?
Pull you head out of your ass Mr. “real American.” That ad was put together by the McCain campaign, and John McCain liked it, as tasteless at it is. The “old” John McCain would have hated that ad. The new McCain that sold his soul to the sinister hate-mongers that control the Far Right loves it.
You are the one that needs to “think before you post your thoughts on the inernet” or, at the very least, do a little research so you at least sound like you know something about what you are writing about.
