Obamakast

February 13th, 2007

Barack Obama officially entered the presidential race last Saturday.  About a week or so before that he, along with many other contenders, spoke at the Democratic National Committee’s winter meeting.  Most of the candidates chose theme songs to be played while they entered or exited the hall:  Clinton picked two, “Right Here, Right Now,” by Jesus Jones and “Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” by Bachman-Turner Overdrive.  Edwards picked the Chevy song by John Mellencamp, Dodd picked two by the Temptations, “Get Ready (Cause Here I Come)” and “Reach Out.”  Kucinich picked “America the Beautiful” and Wesley Clark chose Johnny Cash’s version of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down.”

So what did Obama choose?  Nothing.

That’s fine, but I have to tell you that ever since the Biden remark about Obama being articulate and clean, the song that pops into my head whenever I see Obama is Outkast’s “So Fresh, So Clean.”

Maybe Obama could get Andre 3000 to do an ad for him.  Picture Andre all dressed up, tipping his hat and saying with a big grin: “Vote for Barack Obama.  He’s so fresh and so clean clean.”

That’s right…

Aint nobody dope as me Im dressed so fresh so clean
(so fresh and so clean clean)

Dont you think Im so sexy Im dressed so fresh so clean
(so fresh and so clean clean)

Aint nobody dope as me Im dressed so fresh so clean
(so fresh and so clean clean)

I love when you stare at me Im dressed so fresh so clean
(so fresh and so clean clean)
