Last week Osama bin Laden announced to the world that Al Qaeda is planning more attacks in the United States. Osama…. hmmmm…. Oh yeah, he’s that guy organized the 9/11 attacks–the guy that Bush wanted “dead or alive.” That’s the same guy that got away from his hole in Tora Bora a few years ago.
He’s back, and he’s threatening America again.
So how does the Bush Administration respond? One would think that the Administration would sound some alarms when Al Qaeda’s leader issues actual threats. I mean it didn’t take much for them to raise the terror-alert level to orange four times during the months leading up to the 2004 election even when there was no credible evidence to support the increased alert levels. Think back to August 2004 when Tom Ridge raised the alert level for New York and Washington to orange based on “frightening new evidence of Al Qaeda plots” that turned out to be at least three or four years old.
So now when Osama releases a new videotape warning of Al Qaeda attacks in America, Bush just thumbs his nose. We’ve been a steady code “Yellow” for several months now.
That reminds me of an infamous Presidential Daily Briefing from August 2004 titled Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the U.S.
Bad things happened after Bush ignored that warning…
Let’s hope Mr. Stuffed Codpiece is better prepared this time.
