Like many of the economic and social tenets far right that overtook and ran the Republican Party into the dirt, the effectiveness of “Voodoo Economics” is put forth as an absolute truth that is self-evidently correct. I honestly don’t know the answer to this: Is there any example where this economic theory has ever been successful in a sustainable way over any period of time in modern history? I sure can't think of one but maybe I'm wrong

Republicans: Question your leadership and make them explain why platform elements will work with concrete examples and real math. Why is a progressive tax policy fundimentaly in conflict wtih your beliefs? We need a relevant and legitimate 2nd party in this county and right now we don’t have one.

Why: Someone has got to educate the electorate and kill bad ideas like the wrong-headed and dangerous “Employee Free Choice Act” who’s deceptive name – in a Rovian fashion typically reserved for Republican causes – hides the fact that it is nothing but a bill to support the labor union machine. By enabling small groups of workers to push naive employees and - ultilmately - the businesses they work for into the unions, the guarentee a result similar to where GM is right now. In fact, the "benevolent" UAW is more responsible than even the poor leadership at GM for where that company is and no one in government has the balls to call them out.

Unions will not correct the inequities that Brad accurately presents in his post - a progressive tax structure will.

Question authority. Hold leadership responsible. Treat strangers well. Fight the power.
