Voting machines are easily manipulated

November 1st, 2006

Bev Harris of BlackBoxVoting.org shows how easily a poll worker or anyone else could bypass the ’security’ of the Diebold Accuvote hardware in this post.

It is an easy process that can be completed in less than 4 minutes and made easier by the fact that in King County Washington, and numerous other counties, these machines go home with poll workers at the end of election night.

This video from a Princeton study shows how easily a voting machine can manipulate the outcome of an election.  Additional information about this study can be found at the Princeton Center for Information Technology Policy website.
