Friday Night Videos – Cracker, Warren Zevon, and David Lindley

May 15th, 2009

You regular readers probably noticed that I skipped posting last week’s installment of Friday Night Videos.  I was in Austin drinking beer, eating barbecued meat wtih barbecued meat sides and barbecued meat dessert, and listening to live music. No time for bloggin’ there. (more about that trip later.)

Anyway… Here’s one from Cracker’s new album, Sunrise in the Land of Milk and Honey.

Warren Zevon’s live version of one of my all time favorite songs, ”Werevolves of London.”

And here’s crazy David Lindley doing ”She Took Off My Romeos,” from the 1981 album El Rayo-X.

Happy Birthday to David Lowery

September 10th, 2008

David Lowery, born September 10, 1960, is a co-founder of Camper Van Beethoven and Cracker – two of the best bands ever.

Here are lyrics to David Lowery’s birthday song to himself, “and to you” from the album Kerosene Hat.

I was having a good sleep in my car
In the parking lot of the Showboat Casino Hotel.
I said, “I remember you!  You drive like a PTA mother.”
You bought me draft beer in a plastic cup.
I’m feeling thankful for the small things today.
I’m feeling thankful for the small things today.

Happy, happy birthday to me
Happy birthday to me and to you.
Happy, happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to me, and to you.

video here.

Listen to Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart and Kerosene Hat today.
