Coffee War

November 29th, 2007

While surfing around last night checking out Chuck Prophet’s MySpace pages (yes, he has two.  I don’t know why.)  I found this twisted Photoshop montage based on the famous Eddie Adams Vietnam War photo.

Viet Cong Starbucks Remix

Kind of gives a whole new meaning to “a shot of espresso.”

It was posted on Chuck Prophet’s page by some guy named Mike.

Go see Chuck tomorrow night at The Tractor Tavern if you can.

Bombs and Babes

July 17th, 2007

I came across this photo while looking for images to put on a cover for a 1957 compilation CD I’m making to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of the parents of a friend of mine.

Miss Atomic Bomb

What could be more American than the combination of a mushroom cloud with a pinup girl?

For more information about the woman in the photograph, the photographer, and when and where it was taken, go here.

And check out the CONELRAD page about this CD/DVD collection titled Atomic Platters – Cold War Music From The Golden Age Of Homeland Security

New Sony Ericsson phone

September 17th, 2006

I have long been a fan of the Sony Ericsson cell phones having owned a few (t68i,t610). I replaced my t610 with the RAZR and have missed the Sony Ericsson phones ever since. The RAZR is a good phone, but I miss the OS of the Sony Ericsson phones. The phone just made sense to me. The RAZR is like reading a medical journal, I can do it, but I have to stay focused.

I never really cared for the built in cameras though, prefering my Sony Cybershot.

But, it looks like I may have found my next phone. The Sony Ericsson k800i. Featuring a Sony Cybershot camera built in. And yes, it does have a flash.

Here are the specs from Sony Ericsson and a review from 3G.co.uk.
