That makes a tie something tolerable to watch.
That and the absence of a hundred thousand vuvuzelas making a very loud and annoying, never-ending buzzing beehive sound.

I clicked on an incoming link to this blog and found myself at Skinbeatergreg where I came across this YouTube video.
I like it.
Skinbeatergreg has a post above his OBollywood one featuring a few other YouTube campaign videos, including an incredibly awful one by the McCain Girls titled “Raining McCain.” I dare you to watch it. Aaack! Greg has some things to say about what makes it so awful. Check it out.
Since today is Frank Zappa’s birthday, the least you could do is watch the Crossfire video from 21 years ago. Frank takes on the douche bag Robert Novak and nut case John Lofton. Tom Braden hosts the show.
Needless to say, Frank wins the debate.
I just downloaded the Safari 3 beta today and eventually made it around to viewing a YouTube video in a friend’s LiveJournal post. To my surprise, at the end, the video’s familiar Play Again and other navigation features had been transformed, as if inspired by the new Leopard Desktop that was shown off today.

Dock like icons adorned the bottom of the embedded window along with a nice reflective surface and even the bubbly mouse over effect! I thought perhaps it was a secret new player for Safari 3 only using the new h.264 encoded files, but confirmed that it does also look the same in IE and Firefox. But, oddly enough, only in videos embedded in a website.
This looks like a sign of bigger things to come from the partnership between Apple and Google. Besides that, Apple isn’t telling you about how much faster Safari 3 is than Safari 2. Especially its Flash support. I’d say it’s easily twice as fast! And don’t even get me started on the INCREDIBLE new page and source search features.
So go download the Safari Beta and check it out for yourself:
Tom Waits a 3-disc album titled Orphans – Brawlers, Bawlers and Bastards. I’ve been listening to it every day since it came out, and I must say it’s an incredibly great collection of songs. The “Brawlers” disc is made up primarily of noisy, stomping rock songs, the “Bawlers” disc holds the quieter ballads, and the “Bastards” disc is a mish mash new stuff, songs he’s done in the past including his rendition of “Heigh Ho” from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in which he “takes the spring out of their step.” (Go listen to this NPR interview for more about that.) and some stories that only Tom can tell.
Tom was on David Letterman Monday night. Watch Part I of the interview here and watch his performance of “Lie to Me” below.
Tom was on The Daily Show Tuesday night, and you can watch the interview in two parts here and here. During the interview Tom and Jon discuss how the problems in Iraq might be solved with a 2X4 guitar. The show closes with a truncated performance of “Day After Tomorrow” from the 2004 album Real Gone. Watch it here.
If you haven’t bought Orphans yet, well go get it already.
Anyone who visits this site regularly has probably noticed I haven’t posted much of anything for the past couple weeks. It could be because I’ve been extremely busy with real work, or it could be because of this internet toy called Line Rider. Check it out. You’ll find that you can amuse yourself with it for way, way too long.
I have a seven-year old son who introduced me to it, and he’s been at it for hours. He of course provides his own sound effects for every bump and crash that is endured by the poor passenger on the sled.
After you’ve played with it for a while, go here to see what people who have way too much spare time can do with it.
A message from George Bush…
A ‘One Finger Victory Salute’? We’ll see about that tomorrow night when the midterm results come in.
A few years ago I had the opportunity to give George Bush a ‘One Finger Victory Salute’ when he visited Seattle (quite cathartic). He was probably afraid to look out the window of his limo, as it passed the large group of protestors, and unfortunately missed my ‘salute’…
Check out Electoral-Vote.com for the latest poll numbers. It looks like the house is going to flip parties and the Senate will likely do so too.
Any other result should be considered highly suspect. As mentioned previously, the electronic voting machines are easily manipulated. If the Republicans some how maintain control, all eyes should focus on Karl Rove (the Architect) and the voting machines.
The Dixie Chicks’ ad for their movie, Shut Up and Sing.

Not long ago our webmaster found himself with a lot of time on his hands, so he started making changes to the site and submitting content of his own.
He added the “fashion” category, and I must admit I gave him some shit about that.
But now… well here is my first fashion post.
This has got to be the coolest commercial I’ve seen a very long time.
The footage of Audrey is taken from the movie Funny Face.
